A Mac mini M6 for your GitHub Actions. $109 a month, unlimited builds.
Every job runs in a fresh macOS VM with Xcode 27.1 or 26.6, two jobs at a time, on a Mac that only your team uses. No per-minute bill and no Mac to look after.
First 7 days free, then $109 a month. Cancel any time. One Mac is available right now.
What every job gets
- A fresh copy of macOS Tahoe 26.6.2. The VM is deleted when the job ends, so nothing carries over between jobs.
- Xcode 27.1 (the default) and Xcode 26.6, with iOS 27 and iOS 26.5 simulators.
- 4 cores of the M6, 6 GB of memory and about 50 GB of free disk.
- Homebrew, Git LFS, the GitHub CLI, Node 24 and Rosetta, with passwordless sudo inside the VM.
- Two jobs at once, and the next job starts about 20 seconds after one finishes.
In our own test, an Xcode 27.1 job built a small Swift package for the iOS simulator in 10 seconds and ran its tests on an iOS 27 simulator in 34 seconds. The whole job took 55 seconds.

runs-on: [self-hosted, macOS, ARM64, pickaxe]
steps:
- uses: actions/checkout@v5
- run: xcodebuild -scheme MyApp -destination 'generic/platform=iOS Simulator' build
For Xcode 26.6, set DEVELOPER_DIR=/Applications/Xcode_26.6.app/Contents/Developer. Flutter, React Native and Fastlane install with Homebrew or your usual setup steps.
Price
| Mac builds, October 2026 | Price |
|---|---|
| GitHub's own macOS runners | $0.062 a minute |
| Whole Mac mini in a data centre (RentAMac, MacStadium, Mac Mini Vault) | $119 to $150 a month, and you look after it |
| This runner | $109 a month, unlimited minutes, 2 jobs at a time |
$109 buys about 30 hours of GitHub's macOS minutes. If your team builds for longer than that each month, this is cheaper. GitHub doesn't charge for self-hosted runner minutes (October 2026).
Would you rather have the whole machine? You can rent the same Mac mini M6 (16 GB memory, 512 GB SSD) by the month, with admin access over SSH, also for $109 a month.
Setting it up
- Start your free week and tell us which GitHub organisation or repository the runner is for.
- We email you a short guide, usually within a few hours. You create a fine-grained GitHub token that can only manage self-hosted runners (the organisation permission "Self-hosted runners", or the repository permission "Administration") and send it to us.
- The runner appears in your repository or organisation settings, usually the same day. Point your workflows at it with
runs-onas above.
Terms
- For software development, building and automated testing only, as Apple's macOS licence requires. It isn't for remote desktop use, hosting websites or bots, mining, or training AI models.
- By starting, you accept Apple's macOS and Xcode licence terms. We can end a rental that breaks them.
- The Mac is yours alone while you rent it: nobody else's jobs run on it, and we only log in to the Mac itself for maintenance.
- VMs can reach the internet but not our network.
- Your GitHub token is kept only on the Mac, readable by the runner service alone, and deleted when you leave. Each VM is deleted when its job ends.
- $109 a month by card through Stripe, after the 7 free days. Month to month; cancel any time by email and you won't be charged again.
- The Mac runs on our own business internet line, not in a data centre. If it's down for more than an hour and it isn't your doing, we credit you for the time.
